我們對商業的一個思考，在北京靠近國貿CBD這樣的區域的小院子里，呈現什么樣的建筑和室內效果，才能夠和周圍密布的連鎖咖啡品牌、精品咖啡店競爭，把人不僅吸引來，而且可以待的住，停留下來，并愿意多次消費。所以我們提出了“在北京CBD蓋大棚”這樣一個頗具有行為藝術反差的想法，并將花園引入室內休息區域。

Our reflection on commerce considers what kind of architecture and interior effect can be presented in a small courtyard located near the Guomao CBD in Beijing, enabling competition with the surrounding chain coffee brands and boutique coffee shops. The aim is not only to attract people but also to provide a space where they can linger, stay, and be willing to make repeat purchases. Therefore, we proposed the somewhat avant-garde idea of 'building a greenhouse in Beijing's CBD,' which incorporates a garden into the indoor relaxation area.

Project Background

北京友誼商店建成初期是新中國第一家也是全國最大涉外商店，是北京外交的重要窗口，曾接待過許多國家元首、政府首腦和知名人士，具有獨特的歷史地位和文化價值。時過境遷周邊潮流商場更迭，其逐漸失去昔日光環。

本案位于北京市朝陽區建國門外大街 17 號，北京友誼商店花園內，曾為友誼商店老設備房，荒廢已久。如何從一棟年久失修的缺乏特點的設備用房改造為潮流咖啡店極具挑戰。

The Beijing Youyi Store, in its early days, was the first foreign-related store in New China and the largest of its kind in the country. It served as an important window for Beijing's diplomacy, having hosted many heads of state, government leaders, and prominent figures, thereby possessing a unique historical status and cultural value. However, as time has passed and surrounding trendy shopping malls have emerged, it has gradually lost its former luster.
This case is located at No. 17 Jianguomen Outer Street in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, within the garden of the Beijing Youyi Store. It was once the old equipment room of the Friendship Store and has been abandoned for a long time. Transforming a dilapidated, characterless equipment room into a trendy coffee shop poses significant challenges.

1.“建筑不是孤立存在的，而是場所的一部分”
'Architecture does not exist in isolation, but is a part of the place.'

設計之初思考最多的問題是怎樣在歷史氛圍濃郁的場地呈現出獨特的風格同時與周圍環境呼應，建筑應該以怎樣的方式呈現。

多次現場考察設計中敏銳捕捉場地原有的歷史脈絡與自然特征，將緊鄰的百年大樹作為空間敘事的主角，高聳粗壯、枝葉濃密，透過這幾顆大樹仿佛看到了友誼商店后花園往日的生機與活力。

At the beginning of the design process, the most pressing questions revolve around how to present a unique style within a site rich in historical ambiance while harmonizing with the surrounding environment, and in what manner the building should be portrayed.
Through multiple on-site investigations, the design keenly captures the original historical context and natural characteristics of the site. The centenarian trees located nearby serve as the main characters in the spatial narrative, standing tall and robust with dense foliage. Through these trees, one can almost glimpse the past vitality and vibrancy of the garden behind the Youyi Store.

通過模型對空間的多次推敲發現，打開建筑頂部與側面，引入陽光與樹影，使廢棄建筑重新與自然環境共生，陽光透過樹梢散落而下，在地面形成斑駁光影，每一道光線都落在疲憊的心靈深處，呈現出一種跨越時空的美感。形成“樹蔭下的咖啡廳”這一獨特場景。

Through extensive contemplation of the space using the model, it was discovered that opening the top and sides of the building to introduce sunlight and tree shadows allows the abandoned structure to re-establish a symbiotic relationship with the natural environment. Sunlight filters through the treetops, casting mottled light and shadow on the ground, where each ray touches the depths of weary souls, presenting a sense of beauty that transcends time and space. This results in the unique scene of a 'café under the shade of trees'.

2.“打破常規，空間重構，在新舊沖突中尋找突破，”
"Breaking conventions, reconstructing spaces, and seeking breakthroughs amidst the conflict between the old and the new."

頂部側面打開以原建筑走廊為界限，前部為客座區開放明亮融入現代元素，后勤空間則保留其封閉特征保留具有歷史印記的舊磚外墻。

開放客區與封閉后勤空間，相互碰撞，設計中產生了一個大膽的嘗試，大膽采用弧形玻璃頂打破原有方盒子結構的束縛，高大的明亮的玻璃窗與樹影交織散落在老舊墻面、地面這種沖突并非對抗，而是通過光影的流動、材質的虛實對比達成和諧。新舊沖突對比的方式形成獨樹一幟的空間基調。

The top side opens to delineate the original building corridor, with the front area designed as an open and bright guest seating zone that integrates modern elements, while the logistical space retains its enclosed characteristics, preserving the old brick exterior wall that bears historical marks.
The open guest area and the enclosed logistics space interact to create a bold design experiment. The daring use of a curved glass roof breaks the constraints of the original box-like structure. The tall, bright glass windows interweave with the shadows of trees, casting a unique interplay on the aged walls and floor. This conflict is not adversarial; rather, it achieves harmony through the flow of light and shadow and the contrast of materiality. The juxtaposition of the old and the new establishes a distinctive spatial tone.

3.關注人與空間互動過程中形成的心理感受,設計多層次的光影控制系統。
Pay attention to the psychological feelings formed during the interaction between people and space, and design a multi-layered lighting control system

設計過程中注重人通過建筑與環境自然互動過程中體驗感。致力于塑造空間溫馨、舒適、放松營造度假感考慮氛圍，踏入空間讓人瞬間放松下來，得以卸下疲憊，稍作停歇。

弧形頂的玻璃“大棚”最致命的問題是夏天陽光過曬不適于久坐，設計從三個方面解決這個問題：

1）結構性遮陽。造型上縮減玻璃面積，僅保留與樹冠交錯部分。

During the design process, emphasis is placed on the experiential interaction between inpiduals and the environment through architecture. The aim is to create spaces that are warm, comfortable, and relaxing, evoking a sense of vacation. Upon entering the space, inpiduals can instantly feel at ease, allowing them to shed their fatigue and take a moment of respite.
The most critical issue with the glass "greenhouse" featuring a curved roof is the excessive sunlight exposure in summer, making it unsuitable for prolonged sitting. This design addresses the problem from three aspects:
Structural shading. The design reduces the glass area, retaining only the parts that intersect with the tree canopy.

2）張拉網濾光。室內頂部與結構結合沿弧形頂鋪設一層鋁張拉網，柔化直射光，即起到了一定遮陽作用又可以隱藏部分不美觀的結構交接

Utilize a tensioned mesh filter. A layer of aluminum tensioned mesh is laid along the curved ceiling in conjunction with the interior and structure, softening direct light, which serves both a sunshading function and conceals some aesthetically unappealing structural joints.

3）可調遮陽簾。玻璃區域加入一層遮陽簾，根據陽光的強烈可以選擇打開關上，應對不同時段光照強度。

Adjustable sunshades. A layer of sunshade is added to the glass areas, which can be opened or closed depending on the intensity of sunlight, thereby addressing the varying light intensity at different times.

4）復古風扇。頂部設計復古風扇不僅強化懷舊氛圍而且風扇轉動促進空氣流通，微風徐徐徹底放松身心。
Vintage fans. The top design of the vintage fan not only enhances the nostalgic atmosphere but also promotes air circulation as the fan rotates, providing a gentle breeze that thoroughly relaxes both body and mind.

5）引入綠植。室內空間引入多種綠植，被綠植包裹視覺降溫，通過與頂面樹影呼應營造陽光花園空間環境

Utilizing green plants, various types of vegetation are introduced into the indoor space, which are surrounded by greenery to visually reduce temperature. This approach, in conjunction with the shadows cast by the ceiling, creates an environment reminiscent of a sunlit garden.

以上，不僅徹底解決了玻璃頂過曬問題，同時增加空間層次。陽光透過樹葉、玻璃、鋁張拉網、紗網、風扇、綠植，一層一層散落在地面形成斑駁光影，配合著輕柔的背景音樂，讓人瞬間放松下來。

The above not only completely addresses the issue of excessive sunlight on the glass roof but also enhances the spatial hierarchy. Sunlight filters through the leaves, glass, aluminum tension mesh, gauze, fans and green plants, cascading layer by layer onto the ground to create mottled light and shadow. Coupled with soft background music, it allows one to instantly relax.


4.歷史碎片再現
The Reappearance of Historical Fragments

在空間設計中，以 “歷史碎片” 為線索進行融合，通過對歷史遺存、歷史記憶、文化符號的選擇性提取、現代轉譯與場景化重組，讓空間成為 “可觸摸的歷史敘事載體”。這種方式既保留歷史的溫度，又避免復古設計的沉重感，讓現代空間與過去形成 “對話” 而非 “復刻”。

強化空間入口通過體塊與弧形屋頂穿插重構， 方形不銹鋼入口與復古logo、舊門，通過現代材料與傳統元素的并置，強化視覺張力。

In spatial design, using "historical fragments" as a clue for integration, the selective extraction of historical relics, historical memories, and cultural symbols, along with modern interpretation and scenographic restructuring, allows the space to become a "tangible narrative carrier of history." This approach preserves the warmth of history while avoiding the heaviness of retro design, allowing modern spaces to engage in a "dialogue" with the past rather than merely "replicating" it.
The entrance to the space is reconstructed by interspersing solid blocks with a curved roof, enhancing visual tension through the juxtaposition of the square stainless steel entrance with retro logos and old doors, combining modern materials with traditional elements.
